1. Do I need to sign a waiver?
Yes – you will need to read and agree to the assumption of risks indemnity agreement prior to the participating. A Paper version of the waiver miust be signed at the commencement of the course.
2. What should I look for when hiring a guided experience?
Hiking guides are certified through the Association of Canadain Mountain Guides (ACMG). Hiring an ACMG certified guide ensures you will receive a minimum standard set by a governing body. Other characteristics you should look for experience, especially in the mountains, you are planning to visit.
3. I have never hiked before can I still book into one of Terrain's experiences?
Of course, you can. You don’t need any prior experience to have a good time in the mountains. All types of mountain activities do have some bare minimum physical requirements and we have programs (like the wellness and fitness series) that build gradually to support a safe outdoor experience. If you’re concerned about your fitness, injury, or other condition, please give us a call and we’ll work with you to figure out a solution
4. Is payment due before or after the trip?
All payments are due before the start of the trip. Even though full payments at the time of booking are the easiest, we do accept minimum deposits of 25% with advanced booking greater than 30 days out. Booking with less than 30 days notice requires full payment at the time of booking.
5. What happens if there is bad weather on the day of the trip?
Teaching people how to be comfortable in the mountains during all types of weather is what we do. Some of the best hiking is done in the rain. However, bad weather can make an objective dangerous, if this is the case we’ll work with you to try and reschedule as soon as possible. If you can’t reschedule, we’ll work with you to find alternatives.
